christian (he/him) is born in the German Democratic Republic and works as a filmmaker, art mediator and social worker. Through documentary, experimental and essayistic approaches his works are research-based and follow a materialist approach to socio-political processes and movements in the context of (post)socialist socialisation, masculinities and (re-)production work.
The research-based work deals with the materials concrete and oil, focusing on biographical-narrative interviews with factory workers from the German Democratic Republic. It explores how prevailing ideologies are conveyed through the materials concrete and oil and how they affect the areas of work and living in socialism and capitalism to this day. The emphasis is on the resilience practices of the working class in connection with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the post-reunification period.
He is also part of the action based collective rampe:aktion, where he works with friends on transdisciplinary educational practices at the intersection of fine arts, social work, film and art mediation.
