WE_FALL (WIR_FALLEN)
The “WIR FAL_LEN” project explores the gaps, voids, and pitfalls of the hegemonic narrative of German reunification. In cooperation with Libken e.V., we will develop a storytelling café as a research format based on our individual research projects, with the aim of examining gender-specific aspects of (post)German history, female and male role models, and socialization across generations. The storytelling café serves as a meeting and research platform, offering our research the opportunity to initiate a multigenerational dialogue that sheds light on the multifaceted nature and complexity of East Germany as a society in transition. By creating a space for exchange to make East German perspectives audible and visible, we aim to challenge common stereotypes and attributions and create a place of empowerment for ourselves as well as for the participants of the storytelling café—a space at the intersection of participation, research, and artistic production.
